Abstract
A comprehensive analysis of the operating principles of LoRa wireless networks has been carried out, along with an investigation of how RF path matching affects communication range and link stability. It is shown that the CSS spread-spectrum technique provides LoRaWAN systems with high interference immunity and energy efficiency; however, the quality of the antenna–feeder system remains a decisive factor for receiver sensitivity and transmission performance. Two types of antennas for the 433 MHz band were designed, fabricated, and tuned: a Ground Plane monopole antenna and a Yagi–Uda directional antenna. Instrumental measurements using the LiteVNA 64 vector network analyzer confirmed the dependence of the resonance frequency on the geometric parameters of the radiating elements and demonstrated the effectiveness of step-by-step matching of the directional antenna components. The results indicate that self-manufactured antennas, when precisely dimensioned, can provide the resonance characteristics required for reliable operation in LoRa communication systems.
