The qualification thesis is devoted to a comprehensive comparative study of the information policies of the United Kingdom and the United States during the First World War. The thesis analyzes the specific features of the formation and implementation of state information policy, the main mechanisms of propaganda, censorship, control of the information space, and mobilization of public opinion under wartime conditions. Particular attention is paid to the activities of state and public institutions, the use of the press, printed materials, and other means of mass communication, as well as the construction of the image of the enemy and the legitimization of the states’ participation in the war. Based on a comparative analysis, the study identifies the common and distinctive features of the information policies of Great Britain and the United States, determines the specifics of interaction between the state, the media, and society, and traces the impact of information campaigns on the formation of public attitudes. The study establishes that the information policies of both states became important instruments of wartime mobilization and social consolidation, while differing in the degree of centralization, institutional organization, and the nature of interaction with the media.
