Земські бібліотеки в українських губерніях Російської імперії (1864–1918 рр.)

Abstract

Дослідження присвячене комплексному вивченню становлення та функціонування земських бібліотек в українських губерніях Російської імперії у 1864–1918 рр., аналізу передумов їх виникнення, організаційних засад діяльності, джерел фінансування, кадрового забезпечення та особливостей формування бібліотечних фондів. Метою роботи є дослідження процесу формування та розвитку мережі земських бібліотек, визначення етапів їх еволюції, виявлення специфіки діяльності в різних регіонах, з’ясування їхньої ролі у культурно-освітньому житті населення. Об’єкт дослідження – земські бібліотеки в українських губерніях Російської імперії у 1864–1918 рр. Предмет дослідження – організаційні особливості, діяльність та вплив земських бібліотек на освітній і культурний розвиток місцевих громад. У роботі використані історико-порівняльний, історико-хронологічний, історико-статистичний методи. Наукова новизна полягає у комплексному аналізі регіональних особливостей розвитку земських бібліотек в українських губерніях та їх впливу на формування культурного й освітнього простору. Узагальнено організаційні моделі, джерела фінансування та динаміку розвитку бібліотечної мережі у 1864–1918 рр. Проведене дослідження дозволило простежити особливості становлення та розвитку земських бібліотек в українських губерніях Російської імперії у 1864–1918 рр., а також виявити їх регіональні відмінності та значення для освітньо-культурного розвитку населення.

The study is devoted to a comprehensive examination of the formation and functioning of zemstvo libraries in the Ukrainian governorates of the Russian Empire in 1864–1918, as well as to the analysis of the prerequisites for their emergence, the organizational principles of their activity, sources of funding, staffing, and the specific features of the formation of library collections. The aim of the work is to study the process of formation and development of the network of zemstvo libraries, to determine the stages of their evolution, to identify the specific features of their activity in different regions, and to clarify their role in the cultural and educational life of the population. The object of the study is zemstvo libraries in the Ukrainian governorates of the Russian Empire in 1864–1918. The subject of the study is the organizational features, activity, and influence of zemstvo libraries on the educational and cultural development of local communities. The work uses historical-comparative, historical-chronological, and historical-statistical methods. The scientific novelty lies in the comprehensive analysis of the regional features of the development of zemstvo libraries in the Ukrainian governorates and their influence on the formation of the cultural and educational space. The organizational models, sources of funding, and dynamics of the development of the library network in 1864–1918 have been summarized. The conducted research made it possible to trace the specific features of the formation and development of zemstvo libraries in the Ukrainian governorates of the Russian Empire in 1864–1918, as well as to identify their regional differences and significance for the educational and cultural development of the population.
