Researching the relations between the United States of America and the Federal Republic of Germany during 1961-1974, the author determined that the United States of America wanted to have geopolitical influence in the region. The United States of America wanted to have an active influence on the economic, political and military components of the Federal Republic of Germany. In addition, the United States of America wanted to reduce the amount of funds allocated for the defense of the Federal Republic of Germany and gradually reduced the military contingent. The policy of each of the presidents in the considered period differed among themselves, but D. Kennedy and L. Johnson and R. Nixon wanted to negotiate with the Soviet Union to settle the situation around West Berlin and the Federal Republic of Germany, and in Europe in general.
