The global geopolitical and ideological confrontation, commonly known as the Cold War, had in one way or another become a challenge for all the countries of the world and their societies. In the clash between the sides of a bipolar world, Canada had found its way as part of the collective West. However, her reactions were not always synchronous, for example, with those of the USA or Great Britain – perhaps the most culturally close countries. The public reactions, those images of the world, friends, enemies that appeared under the influence of the global confrontation were also different. We consider the reflection of the very concept of the Cold War in public discourse, as well as its manifestations.
