Abstract

G. Bejdin. Roman Provincial Coins on the Territory of Ukraine in the Area of Chernyakhiv Culture Article is devoted of analyzes the findings of Roman Provincial Ccoins of II—III cent. AD of Chernyakhiv Culture area. 50 findings considered as rare coins, and in the treasures. It is noted that most of the findings of the Roman Provincial Coins 37 pcs. (74%) were made in the Ukraine. Chronological distribution of the findings confirm information sources and written opinions of several researchers, linking the appearance of these coins with the Gothic wars, 238–275 AD — 80 % of the finds belong to the III century AD. The predominance of findings on the Left Bank of Ukraine coins of the Pontic provinces and Cappadocia (53,85 %), in particular, the Trebizond coins (31 %), suggests the participation of tribes of barbarians living on the Left Bank of the Dnieper in the naval campaigns in Asia Minor and the looting of Trebizond.
