Abstract
Розглянуто основні функції метамови та шляхи їх реалізації в мемуарах Юрія Шевельова, а також способи, у які метамовна рефлексія здатна маніфестувати індивідуальну картину світу. Підкреслено, що метамовні контексти є засобом самопрезентації мовної особистості автора, зокрема, декларують відчуження від мови тоталітарної держави, маркують «свої» фрагменти дійсності, а також розкривають суб'єктивний вимір сприйняття мови лінгвістом. Показано роль метамови в презентації інших особистостей, що про них ідеться в спогадах.
Description
The main functions of metalanguage and the forms of their realization in George Y. Shevelov's memoirs as well as the ways how metalingual reflection can manifest the individual picture of the world are considered. It is emphasized that metalingual contexts are the means of author's lingual personality self-presentation: in particular, they display the author's estrangement of the totalitarian state language, mark «his own» fragments of reality and uncover the subjective dimension in the linguist's perception of the language. The role of metalanguage in the presentation of other personalities mentioned in the memoirs is also shown.
