Християнізація римської аристократії у ІІІ-VІ століттях

Abstract

У роботі досліджується історія християнізації римської аристократії, розкриваються передумови, вказуються культурні, ідеологічні та соціально економічні причини процесу. Розглядається внутрішня релігійно-політична боротьба серед представників сенату, яка стає особливо запеклою під час спроб «реставрації» язичництва Юліаном та Євгенієм. Особлива увага приділяється діяльності імператорів Костянтина та Феодосія, вольові рішення котрих стануть причиною корінних трансформацій у релігійному житті Римської імперії. Робота складається з чотирьох розділів, що поетапно та хронологічно впорядковано висвітлюють ключові історичні проблеми, пов’язані з християнізацією римської аристократії.The study examines the history of the Christianization of the Roman aristocracy, identifies its prerequisites, and outlines the cultural, ideological, and socio-economic causes of the process. It analyzes the internal religious and political struggle among members of the Senate, which becomes particularly intense during the attempts at a ‘restoration’ of paganism undertaken by Julian and Eugenius. Special attention is devoted to the actions of Emperors Constantine and Theodosius, whose decisive policies brought about fundamental transformations in the religious life of the Roman Empire. The work consists of four chapters that sequentially and chronologically present the key historical issues related to the Christianization of the Roman aristocracy.
