New social and economic processes in Kyiv’s hinterland

Abstract

Belts of the time accessibility of Kyiv’s hinterland are determined. Analysis of the population number, density and rural population density by the belts of accessibility of Kyiv’s hinterland are conducted. Spatial difference in migration behaviour and housing construction are analysed. Spatial aspects of the cottage settlements construction around Kyiv are characterized. Specific of the logistics complexes concentration and industrial areas transformation within the hinterland are revealed. It is shown that metropolitan hinterland is characterized by functional fragmentation.
