О претории IX века в "цитадели" византийского Херсона

Abstract

In the article are considered the results of archaeological excavation of a large public building from three rooms, which was at centre of “citadel” of Byzantine Cherson. The building can be interpreted as praetoria, where placed the authorities of this Byzantine city. It was constructed in the beginning of 9th centuries. About the middle of 9th century the building was reconstructed. At this time here could be placed the staff of the first stratyg of Cherson and thema of Klymata protospatharia Petronos Kamatyros, known of written sources. Praetoria there was up to the end of 9th centuries. The building was disassembled and near it was constructed the new large praetoria and garrison church, which existed in 9th century.
