Проблема кризиса III века в Римской империи в «западном» антиковедении конца XX—начала ХХI вв.

Abstract

В статті розглядається вивчення проблеми кризи III століття в Римській імперії західноєвропейськими та американськими антикознавцями в кінці XX—на початку ХХI ст. Автор відзначає, що в цей період проблема привернула до себе увагу великої кількості істориків. Однак на початок ХХI ст. за своїми поглядами на характер розвитку римської держави у III ст. н. е. ці історики поділились на дві групи: одні вважали, що в цей час Римська імперія перебувала в стані кризи, інші стверджували, що вірніше говорити про зміни та трансформацію. Ці розбіжності в поглядах дають змогу передбачати, що дослідження проблеми залишиться актуальним і в подальшому. The article deals with the study of the problems of the crisis in the Roman Empire in the III century by West European and American historians in late XX—early XXI centuries. The author notes that during this period the problem has attracted the attention of many historians. But by the early XXI century in their views on the nature of the development of the Roman state in the 3rd century AD these historians were divided into two groups: some believed that at this time the Roman Empire was in a state of crisis, others have argued that more appropriate to speak of change and transformation. These differences suggest that the development of the problem will remain relevant in the future.
