Abstract

The thesis studies the interrelations between the language and culture within the framework of linguistic culture studies on the basis of instantiation of a precedent character in the national English-language literatures for children. The adopted research perspective enhances the interpretational power of linguistic culture studies and contributes to the theory of precedent phenomena. The relevance of the research is supported by its implementation in the context anthropocentrism as the leading paradigm of linguistic research and within the framework of an effective linguistic discipline, linguistic culture studies, which synergises the provisions of cognitive linguistics, communication theory, and theory of intertextuality within the choicen context
