The bachelor's thesis presents a theoretical analysis of the classical and stimulated Doppler effects, as well as the photon recoil effect at a moving interface between two media. The physical meaning and mathematical formulation of the classical Doppler effect for mechanical waves are considered, along with its relativistic counterpart for electromagnetic radiation. The corpuscular characteristics of the photon and the Abraham–Minkowski controversy regarding the magnitude of the photon momentum inside a dielectric medium are examined. Based on both the wave and quantum approaches, the Doppler frequency shifts of the reflected and refracted waves at a moving planar interface are calculated. The conditions for the realization of the stimulated Doppler effect at a moving boundary are established, and the corresponding expressions for frequency transformation are derived within the quantum-mechanical formalism of energy and momentum conservation. The radiation pressure on a flat interface with a transparent medium is calculated within both competing photon momentum models. The conditions for the observability of the photon recoil effect at a moving boundary are analyzed in comparison with thermocapillary forces. A comparative analysis of the classical and stimulated Doppler effects in the context of wave interaction with a moving medium is carried out.
