Abstract

The article examines Adam Smith’s contribution to the formation and development of political economy. The main ideas of the scientist are analyzed, including the theory of value, division of labor, the role of the state in the economy, and the principle of the “invisible hand of the market.” The significance of his scientific approaches for the development of modern economic theory and their relevance today are determined.У статті розглянуто внесок Адама Сміта у становлення та розвиток політичної економії. Проаналізовано основні ідеї вченого, зокрема теорію вартості, поділ праці, роль держави в економіці та принцип «невидимої руки ринку». Визначено значення його наукових підходів для формування сучасної економічної теорії та їх актуальність у сучасних умовах.
