Contemporary Literature as a World’s Commensal

Abstract

Literature is a product of the human mind. The latter is shaped and continuously influenced by the social environment its owner is confined to. Therefore, as the environment changes, so does literature. In terms of messages, contemporary literature offers an insight into the sociocultural panorama of the present era. From the linguistic perspective contemporary works of literature offer a reflection of the modern language with all its peculiarities and changes, featuring the diversity of forms and clichés of communication, grammatical structures and collocations to be used in a variety of everyday-life situations. Thus, contemporary literature shall be considered as sort of multi-format chronicles of the era we are living in.
