Римско-армянские отношения в I в. до н. э. ‑ начале I в. н. э.

Abstract

Дисертація присвячена історії римсько-вірменських відносин у I ст. до н.е. ‑ початку I ст. н.е. У роботі показано, що більшість вірменських царів прагнула налагодити дружні стосунки з римлянами. За допомогою союзу з Римом царі Великої Вірменії намагалися протистояти зростаючій експансії Парфії. Менш послідовною була політика Рима стосовно вірменського царства. Гней Помпей перетворив царство Тіграна II з ворожої на дружню державу, однак Марк Ліціній Красс та Марк Антоній порушили союзні відносини з Артаваздом II. Август спробував повернутися до традиційно дружньої політики стосовно Вірменії, але потім був змушений відкрито втрутитись у внутрішні справи союзної держави. Підсумком римсько-вірменських відносин I ст. до н. е. – початку I ст. н. е. стало послаблення Великої Вірменії і перетворення вірменського царства на другорядну державу. Політика Рима в другій половині I ст. до н. е. сприяла посиленню сепаратистських настроїв серед вірменської знаті. Занепад Великої Вірменії негативно відбився і на політиці римлян у регіоні, тому що вони втратили надійного союзника і були змушені постійно піклуватися про забезпечення свого впливу у Вірменії.

The dissertation is devoted to the history of the Rome-Armenian relations in the Ist Century BC ‑ the beginning of the Ist Century AD. In the work it is shown, that the majority of the Armenian kings was eager to adjust friendly terms with Romans. With the help of the union with Rome the kings of Great Armenia tried to resist the growing expansion of Parthia. Less consecutive was the policy of Rome concerning the Armenian kingdom. Pompey has transformed the kingdom of Тigranes II from the hostile into the friendly state, however Marcus Crassus and Marcus Antony have broken allied relations with Аrtavasdes II. Augustus has tried to return to traditionally friendly policy in towards Armenia, but afterwards has openly interfered with the internal affairs of the allied state. The result of Rome-Armenian relations in the Ist Century BC ‑ the beginning of the Ist Century AD became losing of power of Great Armenia and transformation of the Armenian kingdom into the minor state. A policy of Rome in the second half of the Ist Century BC promoted strengthening of separative moods among the Armenian nobility. The decline of Great Armenia negatively reflected on the policy of Romans in region as they have lost the trustworthy allien and were compelled to take constant care of maintenance of the influence in Armenia.
